In my slightly sombre mood of yesterday I decided to change my journal layout a bit. Couldn't possibly let go of that header with Jensen's "come to bed for sleepy sex" eyes so that stayed. I was in a black and white mood. Still am. Somehow things look better like that : )

Using this new layout means I've had to put my PC moniter on a higher screen resolution, so right now I'm kinda squinting at everything. I just hope I don't end up with a headache after this.

First there was Jensen as Priestly in a kilt goodness here. Now there's positive news about the strike here. Yippee!

I managed a fairly productive day, did a table plan and wrote over half of chapter 2 of This Still Life. I'm a happy bunny. All topped off re-discovering the wonderfulness of Croatoan. Yup, a good day.

I really shouldn't post on LJ until I've had my morning coffee. I also shouldn't attempt any kind of soul searching on a Sunday. I realise I sounded like a complete grump this morning so thank you to everyone who left me lovely comments. No one told me was being a whiney git which was nice of you all :D

I've just dyed my hair a lovely dark red, watched Top Gear and finally downloaded the new Take That song so I'm happy again. I'll ignore the fact that my internet is being sucky and LJ won't let me post replies to comments. I refuse to be drawn in. So there.

Figured now was as good a time as any ;D

Rules, Guidelines

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

On an almost unrelated note, I had an email off Amazon earlier on asking me to change my credit card details for the Companion Guide order. Which means they tried to take the payment from my out of date card so they must be about to send it to me! Finally! \o/

\o/ the final item in my Amazon order  has finally arrived! WOOHOO! So now I have 5 lovely new CDs to listen to :D

Just waiting on the Supernatural Season 1 Companion now. Will it EVER arrive?! I think threatening letters might be in order *shakes fist*

That's all I have time for today, there's a party to be prepared for!

OMG I've totally got my Heroes squee back! Monday night's ep was amaaaaaaaahzing and I just got to watch my favourite S1 ep again too (Company Man was on BBC2). WOOT! The Unmasked was all about him as well so I'm definitely posting that up if I can find it! HRG FTW! It did make me cry again, but not as much as the first time. When I saw Company Man the first time I bawled like an idiot for about 10 minutes *g*



Did everyone have a good Halloween? I've always had a problem with it since it's 7 years to the day that my Mum was in intensive care. Scary day and not because of all the mini witches running around outside stuffing their faces with chocolate. Whenever I see trick or treaters it just reminds me of how fecking scared I was that night seeing here there. Why do people look so tiny in hospital beds?! Anyway. That was long time ago and everything's fine now, I just can't get into the Halloween thing any more. I did, however, join in the eating of muchos chocolate tho :D

And they're repeating Never Mind The Buzzcocks, the one with John Barrowman! *runs off to watch*

For those of you who aren't so familiar with the genius that is Eddie Izzard here is the infamous Cake or Death sketch from his 'Dressed To Kill' show. Laugh? I nearly died.

So I've got a list of about a million and one things I should be doing:

- Making a wedding invitation for my cousin and her husband because they don't have one yet
- Booking a restaurant for my "family" hen night meal
- Making some Heroes icons for my claim at heroes_icons100
- Writing chapter 4 of Close To Me
- Drawing out a table plan for my Dad
- Housework (God forbid!)

And what do I do? I spend 3 hours reading fanfic and making myself a new header and matching default icon. It is very purdy tho! It's such a gorgeous, perfect Autumnal day outside. Cold, crisp, sunny, no wind. The leaves are golden and I feel good. I love this time of year, and apart from my ginormous gas bill, am looking forward to winter too. Plus I love these shots of Dean so much. He looks so cute.
